Our top priority for both our staff and campers is simple:

We want you to leave here with a deeper love for Jesus than when you first came.

Each summer, we hire approximately 35 college-aged individuals to help run the camp. We work as a team, supporting one another wherever needed, while each person has their own unique primary focus.

The ideal candidate for the SMT program is someone who is passionate about serving the Lord and dedicated to working hard to advance His Kingdom. Much of the work involved may go unnoticed by campers, as it is the behind-the-scenes effort that ensures the smooth operation of the summer camp.

Our mission is to serve in a way that creates a space for churches to disciple and evangelize their youth, thereby contributing to the growth of God’s Kingdom.

We have several departments, each with its own area of focus. You can learn more about the individual departments by reading the information listed above.

Your specific schedule will depend on the department you are assigned to and the needs of the camp. Since we serve various types of camps throughout the summer, flexibility in our operations is essential.

Regardless of your assigned department, all staff members will contribute to various aspects of camp ministry. We will all participate in cleaning, assist with recreation in some capacity, and help in the dining hall and concession stand. This is truly a team effort in every aspect.

SMT orientation will begin on May 18 and conclude on May 23.

For those serving the entire summer, the last day of camp will be August 2.

For those serving during the month of June, you will start with SMT orientation on May 18 and conclude on June 28th.

For those serving during the month of July, attendance at SMT orientation from May 18 to May 22 is required. You will then report to camp on June 27th to begin your service on June 28th until the last day of camp August 2nd

Lake Lavon camp is located on Lake Lavon in Princeton Texas. We are about an hour north east of Dallas.

You will have the opportunity to grow in your faith as a believer.

You will be part of something larger than yourself.

You will experience a new way of serving the Lord.

You will build lasting relationships with like-minded individuals.
